San San's Story

My name is Sansan, but Yiyang has always called me Scorpion. It comes from a scar on my chin. Yiyang says it looks like a scorpion. When he calls me Scorpion, I can’t tell whether he’s making fun of me or clumsily trying to comfort me. I’d rather believe it’s the latter, but the snicker in Yiyang’s voice when he says “Scorpion” makes that hope impossible to hold on to.
