The Song of the Peach Blossom Hermitage [ Ming Dynasty ] Tang Bohu In Peach Blossom Hollow stands the Peach Blossom Hermitage, and beneath it dwells the Peach Blossom Immortal; The Peach Blossom Immortal plants peach trees, then picks their blossoms to buy wine. Sober, he sits among the flowers; drunk, he sleeps beneath them; Half-sober, half-drunk, day after day; flowers bloom and fall, year after year. I wish to die among flowers and wine, not bow before carriages and horses; The rich delight in dust kicked up by horses, while wine cups and flowering branches suit the poor. Compare the rich and the poor: one stands on the ground, the other in the sky; Compare the poor man with those who ride in carriages: they hurry about, while I enjoy my leisure. Others laugh at me for being mad; I laugh at them for not seeing the truth; Have they not seen the tombs of the heroes of Wuling? Now, with neither flowers nor wine, they lie plowed into fields.
