Blurb:
Ye Xinyu never imagined she would wake up inside a period novel as a stupid, difficult villainess destined to be cannon fodder.
The original owner had been tricked into marrying a rough country man. With her heart set on her educated youth boyfriend, she kept talking about getting a divorce.
She behaved shamelessly and made a scene every day in hopes of returning to the city, earning the hatred of her parents-in-law and her husband's disgust, and even turning against her best friend.
Abandoned by everyone, she met a tragic end.
By the time Ye Xinyu arrived, the original owner's resentment had reached its peak, and the whole family was hoping Cheng Laosan would divorce her.
With no hope of turning things around, Ye Xinyu, who was born petty, hot-tempered, and unable to take a loss, declared: Nothing matters more than being happy, and she was determined to play the villain.
The Cheng family noticed that Ye Xinyu had changed after returning from the gates of death. This shrew, who used to cause trouble only at home, had started stirring things up outside, too.
People trampled the threshold of the Cheng home, and plenty of villagers came to demand answers from Granny Cheng.
Granny Cheng spread her hands helplessly. "My daughter-in-law is impossible, and my son always takes her side. What can I do? I'm at my wits' end!"
Reader's guide:
1. The heroine is a dramatic troublemaker, and pretty much everyone else sees her as a nightmare.
2. There's a System, but it doesn't do much.
3. The story focuses on family and village life, not career success.
4. The setting is fictional, so please go easy on the historical accuracy checks.
5. If you don't like it, just click away. May good people enjoy a long and peaceful life.
Completed period novel in my collection: Prosperity in The 1970s
Coming soon: After Breaking Off the Engagement, I Became the Male Lead's Third Aunt [The 1970s]. Please add it to your collection!
After living for more than a decade, Shuitao finally learned she was a cannon-fodder supporting character in a period novel.
The heroine was an educated youth sent to the countryside: red lips, pale skin, and a delicate fragrance. As soon as she arrived, she became the dream girl of every bachelor in the production brigade.
That included the man engaged to Shuitao.
A childhood sweetheart couldn't compete with a newcomer from out of nowhere. Her fiance, who'd grown up with her, humiliated her time and time again for the heroine, even threatening to break off their engagement.
After the engagement ended, Shuitao was constantly gossiped about and judged. Miserable and despondent, she died young.
Thinking of her future, Shuitao decided to act first. Before her fiance could come to her, she called off their engagement herself.
Three-legged frogs are hard to find, but men are everywhere. There were plenty of men in the village better than that faithless fiance.
For example, that jerk's third uncle, who had been single since birth and was almost thirty, seemed pretty good.
When the Shuis learned that Shuitao had fallen for that old bachelor, the whole family was left speechless.
Their daughter (younger sister) had to have lost her mind. She was giving up a perfectly good fiance to fall for his third uncle, a lazy glutton who was older and couldn't find a wife. This was going way too far.
Shuitao wasn't having any of it. What was wrong with an older man? He was caring, obedient, devoted, and considerate. He was nothing like that fickle man.
Besides, watching the scumbag and the white lotus fume as they called her Third Aunt was incredibly satisfying.
[Warning: Although the male lead marries late, he isn't old. He and the heroine are six years apart.]
Theme: Persevering in a great undertaking requires unwavering determination
This little girl has been living in her own world, but her husband is not a good person. Everything is calculated. He wants a beautiful and knowledgeable wife who can share the rough housework. The servants are not so hard.
. . . The male protagonist also has the nerve to say that people dislike his sister. Why can't people dislike someone like his sister? .
Finished reading!!! Scatter flowers
I actually saw chocolate??? In those days, chocolate came from rural areas, except in big cities.
The younger sister's fate is too tragic, and the heroine is too ruthless. She is still my husband's sister. It's not a big contradiction, so why don't you say what you think? At least you have a clear conscience! I just wanted to see how much the younger sister went too far and what her outcome would be before I watched it. It gave people the impression that the heroine was too ruthless and selfish.
Oh my god, it's over!!! So sad to leave QAQ
