The Return Journey

He was once a domineering cult leader who looked down upon the world and did as he pleased. He never expected to fall in love with the martial arts alliance leader's son. He defied all convention and forced him to marry him, only to meet his end and see his cult destroyed for that man's sake.

He was cold-hearted by nature, incapable of affection or love. Everyone knew that the martial arts alliance leader had a son who was frail and breathtakingly beautiful, but no one knew there was more to his identity.

Twenty years ago, that man died at the hands of the righteous sects while saving him.

But he took advantage of the opportunity to retreat into a valley with his junior apprentice brother.

Twenty years later, they were hunted down once more.

As he fell from a cliff, he inexplicably thought of the man who had died for him.

Was it a moment of understanding, remorse, or a sudden awakening of conscience? He suddenly realized how much he had owed that man for twenty years.

He thought everything had become nothing but regret, but when he opened his eyes again, the world had turned upside down and the years had swept by.
