1. The female lead is fictional, and the male lead is the fan-favorite Raihan. Shanshan only writes male-female pairings, so please forgive all you lovely fujoshi!

3. The battles fall somewhere between the games and the anime. Everything is for the sake of the story. Shanshan is a noob who just scrapes into Master Ball tier each season, claims the rewards, and runs.
4. The overall strength of the Galar Region is set relatively high in the story. I'm not playing favorites. I just think new and longtime players are getting better and better, so the regions need to grow stronger to keep up.
5. To make the plot work, the main cast is generally older.
