I'll Die If I Don't Act

Si Mumu is a washed-up C-list actor with absolutely terrible acting skills. He has a sworn enemy, Yu Xichang, the handsome face of Huada Entertainment. Si Mumu's greatest wish is to earn enough money as soon as possible, leave showbiz, and stay far away from his nemesis.

Two years later, Si Mumu's wish comes true. Flush with cash, he books a luxurious around-the-world cruise package and decides to enjoy life for a change.

Three days later, he boards the ship and runs into Yu Xichang, who is also carrying his luggage, right outside his cabin.

One day later, disaster strikes the cruise ship. Everyone aboard is dragged into a role-playing game called "Act or Die," and Si Mumu is forced to team up with Yu Xichang.

Before receiving the first script.

Si Mumu: Being forced to team up with someone I hate is fine. He's good at acting and can keep me alive!

After receiving the first script.

Murder in the Orchestra: Your role this round is Yu Xichang, the pianist's newlywed wife. Character description: a lovestruck young woman so obsessed with her husband that she has lost her reason.

Si Mumu: ...Damn! What kind of lousy game system is this? Not only are the scripts awful, its gender recognition system is broken too!

After barely surviving the first script, Si Mumu's acting skills improve tremendously. He gets the second script and cautiously opens it...

The Strange Dancer: Your role this round is Yu Xichang, the merchant's ex-wife. Character description: a deranged woman who can't let go of her ex-husband and harasses him relentlessly.

Si Mumu: ...Bleep! System, did you hear that? Bleep!

Much later, a reporter is lucky enough to interview Si Mumu and Yu Xichang, the married couple who survived the cruise ship disaster and stunned everyone by getting their marriage license in record time.

Reporter: When did your feelings for each other begin to change?

Si Mumu gazes into the distance with a solemn expression. "That story starts with a stupid game so awful it could make your head explode..."

Enemies to lovers! This is the next story I'll write!

Theme: Anything is possible.
