Snow Falls on the Ivory Tower

[Arrogant, unruly CEO × down-on-her-luck, aloof little rose]

1. The day Xia Mei met Gu Qiyun, she was homeless.

With a backpack on her shoulders, she stood beside his car and asked, "I have nowhere to go. Can I come home with you?"

Gu Qiyun smiled, stubbed out his cigarette, opened the car door, and said, "Get in."

2. Everyone in Huaicheng's business circles knows Gu Qiyun spoils Xia Mei to an absurd degree, and even turned down an arranged marriage for her.

He takes her to receptions, accompanies her to exhibitions, and always keeps a handful of her favorite fruit candies in his suit pocket.

The socialites envy how cherished she is. Only Xia Mei knows that the man cannot give her what she wants.

3. She studied hard, worked tirelessly, and started an original fashion design studio with her friends. Six years later, she finally won a major prize at a fashion brand competition.

On the night of the award ceremony, she curled up in his arms and calmly said, "Gu Qiyun, we're over."

Gu Qiyun scoffed. "Got too big for your britches?"

The next day, Xia Mei moved out without hesitation.

4. Not long afterward, Xia Mei's studio received an investment, and she went with her friend to meet the investor.

In the office, a man with a cigarette in his mouth narrowed his eyes at her. "I've supported you all these years, and now you think you can run?"

Xia Mei turned to leave, but Gu Qiyun pulled her into his arms and said helplessly, "How far are you going to make me chase you?"
