The moon beyond the Hanging Sky has shone in full splendor for countless millennia.
Imprisoned in the Heavenly Palace's deepest dungeon, Ying Qing can only gaze at that eternally unchanging moonlight day after day.
Perhaps she isn't really looking at the moon.
The ends of her hair wax and wane like the moon.

In short: The gods and celestial lords all come up with ways to stop the heroine from saving her father, cutting off her immortal roots and sealing her path to immortality, while bringing calamity upon countless mortal cultivators.
Ying Qing: I've sacrificed so much to find Dad.
Male lead: I chopped your dad up.
Ying Qing: Could you beat him?
Male lead: I locked your dad up.
Ying Qing: You locked him up?
Male lead: Your dad...
Ying Qing: Oh, please shut up!
