A Perfect Match

Four years ago, on a stormy day, Jiang Yu slept with her next-door neighbor, Chen Shumiao. Back then, Chen Shumiao wore a white shirt soaked through by the rain, revealing the faint outline of his abs. The dimples that appeared when he smiled made Jiang Yu fall for him completely. She loved the red tips of his ears as he tried to stay calm, and the thunderous pounding of his heart when he kept a straight face. Back then, he was a flawless moon, a soft and crystalline snow. She didn't know that after she left, the moonlight vanished and the snow froze solid. Chen Shumiao stood in the darkness, his eyes pained, with a hint of possessiveness: "Yuyu, don't think you can leave me." * Four years later, while attending a jewelry appraisal event, Jiang Yu spotted an unattended stall. As she approached, she realized the vendor was Chen Shumiao, the man she'd slept with. She had just turned to hurry away when someone pulled her back into his arms. The eyes that had once been as soft as moonlight now resembled a blood moon. His voice was as cold as snow: "I found you, Yuyu." Jiang Yu thought he must hate her for taking advantage of him, but she never expected him to follow her home. He said he had no food or job, and could only make a living picking through garbage. Feeling guilty, Jiang Yu took him in for a while. Then she discovered that when he said he was picking through garbage, he meant searching for gemstones in a mine. Jiang Yu: :). * Chen Shumiao, the richest man in Su City, had found the woman he loved. Everyone assumed that the woman who could catch his eye must be refined, intelligent, gentle, and reserved. They never expected to see a woman at a fashion show decked out in tacky gemstones from head to toe, yet still breathtakingly beautiful. Everyone said Jiang Yu was after Chen Shumiao's money. But they didn't know that the moment they met, God whispered four words in their ears: There is no escape. 1. Written on February 26, 2020. Screenshot saved. 2.
