I've decided to take the story out of paid serialization. I'm really sorry it took so long. I kept clinging to the hope that I could finish it, telling myself I'd eventually find time to update. But I overestimated myself, and wore down my readers' trust. I'm truly sorry. Every time I updated, I had to reread the previous chapters, and then I would get caught in a spiral of self-loathing. The plot and writing are awful, and the characters are too one-dimensional. I kept thinking about starting over and revising the whole thing. I've written several different versions of the opening in my drafts, but scrapped them all because I kept rewriting, and never finished revising any of them, so I never posted them. I've been struggling with this for the past two months, but in the end I decided to take it out of paid serialization. I'm exhausted, and I don't want to revise it anymore. The biggest problem was that I didn't plan an outline before starting. I began the story on nothing but enthusiasm, and it ended up like this. I'm truly sorry. I won't abandon this story. I'll keep writing it slowly after it becomes free to read, just as a bit of a diversion. I won't keep agonizing over the plot or word choices anymore. I'm exhausted. I'm truly sorry.
But given my terrible track record, updates will probably be very slow. Read at your own pace, and sorry.
Spiritual qi revival + mastermind behind the scenes + secret identity split-personality maniac
[No secret identities will be exposed. Never. Not even at the end.]
Original title: "A Hymn to the Birth of a New World"
Qihai Qiyue wakes up one day to find that he has lost all his memories. The only thing bound to him is a card-drawing System.
To regain his memories, he has no choice but to stir up trouble and earn reputation points to draw cards.
And so, the once peaceful world begins to change in secret. When people around the world think they've caught a glimpse of its tail and start investigating, they discover the truth hidden for who knows how many centuries: a supernatural world concealed in another corner of the world's shadows.
Unremarkable shops tucked away in quiet corners may look like umbrella shops, mask shops, or bars, but once you open a hidden mechanism, you'll find the branch of a supernatural organization inside.
A website that looks like a prank by delusional teenagers is actually an internal forum for an organization.
They seem to appear out of nowhere, without warning, but in fact they've always been hiding among you. No one simply noticed.
They are the shadows of the world, working behind the scenes and quietly protecting humanity so it can endure.
Current secret identities: a mysterious member of an organization who is neither good nor evil, the gentle and melancholic soul of a thousand-year-old, and an arrogant, self-obsessed vampire prince
[Note]
1. No CP, but some supporting characters will fall for the protagonist's secret identities. The protagonist, however, has no feelings and is entirely focused on stirring things up.
2. Some of the secret identities the protagonist invents will have melodramatic past-life and present-life backstories.
3. A power-progression power fantasy with a slow start.
Pre-release: "A Cannon Fodder's Guide to Self-Rescue [Quick Transmigration]". Male protagonist, no CP. Please bookmark it. I'll start writing when it reaches 500 bookmarks!
Transmigrating into one cannon fodder after another, each on the verge of ruin, he begins a life of self-rescue.
The fraud who faked academic research, stole credit, and died at the start of the apocalypse becomes a taciturn, socially awkward beacon of hope who single-handedly brings the apocalypse to an end.
The timid boy sacrificed to a demon by his father becomes a little prince adored and pampered by demons.
The warden who offended his superior and was sent to a notorious prison becomes the savior of its villains...
1. Light of the Apocalypse: A socially awkward scientist
2. Jianghu Martial Arts: A dashing, carefree master thief
3. Prison Turmoil: An unfathomable prison warden
4. Another World: An honest, kind, healing little prince
5. Warring States Era: The First Emperor who unifies the land and ends the age of chaos
6. Entertainment King: A musician with depression
7. Villain's Bane: A famous detective who seems more villainous than the villains
8. Republican Era: A spoiled wastrel turned literary great
9. Born Saint: A holy monk who saves all living beings
10. Heart of Evil: An antisocial personality who becomes a counselor after turning himself in
Theme: Break free from a life controlled by others, pursue freedom, and save the world along the way
