The Joys of Youth

A short story I wrote in high school. Just have a look.

*

It was only a crush from our younger days.

Then she learned

that even candy expires one day.

So she didn't want this piece of candy anymore.

And so she wrote:

Everyone has a fragile porcelain doll in their heart.

Someone once held it tenderly in their palm,

but one day, they would let go.

And then

the porcelain doll shattered.
