Also known as: How I Was Forced to Become an Actor While Only Wanting to Live an Ordinary Life
Question: What's it like to have a secret identity?
Anonymous: Thanks for the invite. I'm involved, so I'll stay anonymous.
Eartha Amaranth, a twenty-six-year-old woman who has just earned her doctorate from Metropolis Public University, discovers one day that she has superpowers.
She can't fly or travel through the earth, nor can she destroy the world, but she can take the place of those who can.
Put simply, as long as she wants to, she can become Superman, Batman, Captain America, or just about anyone else. The poor souls she replaces can only hide in her sea of consciousness and watch her use their abilities however she pleases.
It's an ability that's far too powerful and dangerous, so Eartha stays on her guard.
Since all Eartha wants is to be an ordinary person, she begins her career as an actor.
Whether you're a superhero, one of the Mutants, a wizard, or a demon, nobody is going to ruin her ordinary life!
Eartha is still working hard to keep up her ordinary-person act today.
The Americans: "Miss, please come with us."
Eartha: "I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just an ordinary citizen passing by."
Reader's guide:
1. The DC setting follows the comics; the Marvel setting follows the movies. Other American and British franchises also follow their screen adaptations.
2. Plenty of alternate-universe details, with a few major changes.
3. The heroine is overpowered, and her secret identity will be exposed.
