Demon Slayer IF: Where Did Tanjiro Go?

[Main Character's Perspective]

Perhaps it was a cruel joke played by fate. Tanjiro, who should have become a demon slayer, turned into a demon instead.

All he could do was watch helplessly as every bit of happiness was destroyed, then weep in despair while holding the only person he had left: his little sister.

Fate was far too cruel to him. To protect the only family he had left, he had no choice but to leave his little sister behind in tears and wander the world alone.

Fortunately, his journey wasn't quite so lonely. Along the way, he met Zenitsu, who cried easily but was actually very capable; Inosuke, who was quick-tempered but a good person at heart; and others who were demon slayers but, for some reason, treated him kindly.

Tanjiro thought it was all truly wonderful.

[Demon Slayer Corps' Perspective]

Those who should have missed that child were given a set of memories. They were memories of sunshine they should have embraced in another timeline. But where had the child, so bright and vivid in those memories, gone?

Even at the very end, when the child in their memories had lost his right eye, his gaze was still so warm and bright. They wanted so badly to see it once more.

This time, they wanted to protect him at any cost, even if it meant giving their lives. His identity didn't matter. Tanjiro was Tanjiro, and this time they would never let him die alone again.

All you have to do is smile and be happy.

[Brief Blurb]

Everyone with those memories spoils Tanjiro like crazy [shrugs]

Tan-Tan is an angel! Tan-Tan is everyone's favorite!

[Silly Blurb]

Watch demon Tanjiro stomp Muzan into the ground, take Nezuko by the hand, and rise to the top!

Tanjiro: Muzan, let's go sunbathing together! I'll bring wisteria tea and a Nichirin sword massage!

A Few Things to Know:

1. Tanjiro is everyone's favorite, with countless people pining for him.

2. I'm writing this for love. Bookmarks and comments are the biggest motivation for this terrible author [hint hint, very heavily].

3. Any out-of-character behavior is on me. The original belongs to Gotouge-sensei [I actually want to shove the blades back into their mouth].

Theme: If you don't want to lose someone, protect them well
