Shi Fuyu, the most renowned legitimate princess of Southern Qi, was dazzlingly beautiful, noble and bold, and possessed a rare ambition.
At her coming-of-age ceremony, the emperor smiled and asked her, "In all the land, is there a consort you would consider worthy of you?"
Shi Fuyu lifted her chin slightly and answered with three words: "Gu Jingchen."
Everyone who heard her was stunned. Gu Jingchen was a powerful and high-ranking general from an enemy state, commanding a great army. At that moment, Gu Jingchen was leading his iron cavalry across the border between the two states, defeating all in his path and pressing deep into Southern Qi. Before long, he would capture two cities in succession, kill Southern Qi's valiant general on the battlefield, and slaughter tens of thousands of surrendered soldiers, leaving the court and people of Southern Qi terrified.
The emperor's expression darkened slightly. "Why him?"
Shi Fuyu only smiled. She raised her eyes to the horizon, her gaze resolute and far-reaching.
