Overcooked in Space [Interstellar]

A regularly updated, lighthearted read to enjoy with a meal. The male lead isn't important. Funny and silly, with a happy ending and an episodic format.

At twenty-six, Sheng Xia, a chef from Earth, perfectly synchronizes with her twenty-two-year-old counterpart, a young heiress in a parallel universe's interstellar age.

There's no time to worry about whether the heiress is wreaking havoc on the empire Sheng Xia built. First, Sheng Xia has to clean up the heiress's mess.

In the interstellar age, the only seasonings are salt and sugar. Technology has advanced almost to its limits, but public happiness is still low, and most people live on nutritional supplements.

Because of their bloodlines and genes, people in the stars worship and long for ancient Earth, but when the planet exploded, they failed to preserve any of its heritage.

History has gaps and breaks. The civilization of ancient Earth has nearly vanished. The Interstellar National Research Institute has only genetic fragments rescued before the planet exploded, which it uses to develop ingredients for the high-end market, marketed as "foods that ancient Earthlings supposedly ate."

And that's not even mentioning recipes.

People in the stars have discovered that eating raw potatoes makes them feel sick, but have no idea how to prepare other foods. Overwhelmed with grief, they can't help but weep bitterly.

Sheng Xia, who is being forced to livestream herself making boiled cabbage in clear broth: ?

I wake up to find that not only is my empire gone, but Earth has been blown to smithereens.

The hand holding the stockpot trembles slightly.
