Only he wasn’t the master. He was the cool, otherworldly senior brother, so sickly that even holding a sword was a struggle. And he would be the first one sacrificed. Ning Xiang was afraid of dying and pain, and was wondering how to change his tragic ending. He looked up and saw his expressionless junior brother. He had social anxiety and only wanted to stay home, but the cultivation world was cruel. If he didn’t climb his way up, he’d be trampled and left to die. So he kept climbing, and climbing... until he reached the top and became the strongest person in the world, without equal. At last, he wouldn’t have to talk to anyone anymore. Before he could even celebrate, Li Zhao looked down and saw a whole line of people waiting to challenge him. “...” This useless pinnacle wasn’t worth standing on. Just when he was in despair, his master took on an interesting new disciple. He was socially anxious and quiet, while his junior brother stuttered and was quiet. They were a perfect match. The two could barely talk when they met, and even their training together was completely silent. Li Zhao was delighted, and stuck close to his junior brother every day. Before long, his junior brother blushed and confessed his feelings: “S-Senior Brother, I... I like you. I want... want us to become cultivation partners.” Li Zhao turned to stone on the spot. His junior brother’s eyes reddened. “Senior Brother, you... you only want to be with me. D-Doesn’t that mean you... you like me?” Li Zhao’s heart ached for him. After a long struggle, he managed to say, “That’s not exactly it.” After three nights of deliberation, Li Zhao, who had already grown fond of his junior brother, agreed to become his cultivation partner. After all, the path of cultivation was long, and he felt comfortable and at ease only when he was with his junior brother. The two of them really were compatible.
