Mutant Circus

Also known as Mutant Asylum.

I've written several Hollywood entertainment-industry stories, but even my most popular one didn't reach 10,000 favorites. Honestly, I stopped wanting to write Hollywood stories a long time ago. Still, I started that Tom Holland story because I wanted to write about two kids falling sweetly in love and heal myself. So I've decided to abandon the Edward Norton story I planned, Dangerous Game. I'm not writing it.

Then, over the past few days, I've been fiddling with titles, blurbs, and covers for my upcoming stories. Yesterday or the day before, I randomly changed Dangerous Game's title to Mutant Circus. Since Hollywood stories are in the derivative fiction category, if I was going to change the story, it made sense to stick with derivative fiction. I hadn't even added (Marvel) to the title, and the blurb was blank.

Unexpectedly, today an author from the same group suddenly accused me of stealing her circus premise. I was completely baffled. She wrote about mutants and a circus, but I hadn't even written a blurb! How could she decide that already? Does she own the word "circus" and that whole premise now? If you're going to judge it, at least wait until I have a blurb and have started updating, right?!

Readers who follow me should know I love tinkering with upcoming stories. I change their details all the time. Today, I changed that story to Southern Rose, set against the backdrop of Gone with the Wind.

But I can't back down. If I don't use this title, people will think I admit I stole her premise. So I'm absolutely going to put up an upcoming story with this title.
