Drunk on Spring Wine

Fei Yumeng, the fallen heiress of Yancheng, is stunningly beautiful, with a graceful figure. To the wealthy playboys, she's the loveliest songbird in a gilded cage.

But she resolutely chooses to become a little-known actress. When she refuses to fake a romance for publicity, the show replaces her, and her former fake best friend mocks her.

Then the popular dating show Sweet First Love offers her a lifeline, pairing her with the hugely popular movie star Pei Junyan.

The man is aloof and abstinent, with strikingly beautiful features. He's been in the industry for years without a single scandal and is widely regarded as an untouchable beauty.

But on the show...

The night before their country couple's food stall opens, Fei Yumeng gets up in the middle of the night to prepare ingredients. Just after she steps out of the courtyard, she runs into the movie star, whose eyes are bloodshot from staying up late.

He takes off his coat and drapes it over her. "It's chilly at night. Get some sleep soon."

Seeing that all the ingredients have been washed, Fei Yumeng clutches his coat around herself, her heart warming.

Fei Yumeng comes across a snake while picking wild fruit. Her face turns deathly pale as she tries to prod it away with a stick.

The man reacts instantly, grabs it, and throws it away. He steadies her by the shoulders and gently reassures her. "It's gone. Don't be scared."

He takes off his limited-edition coat and gives it to her to carry the fruit.

Fei Yumeng knows he's terrified of snakes.

The final day of filming is Fei Yumeng's birthday. She hasn't celebrated it in years, and an unexpected surprise awaits her.

The male star makes his first-ever drum performance, playing "Happy Birthday" with a doting expression. The whole crew goes wild.

Fei Yumeng is stunned! It's just a script, so why is he acting so wholeheartedly? This is bad!

After the first episode ends, the production team releases behind-the-scenes footage:

In an empty stairwell, Fei Yumeng cries her eyes out because she doesn't want to leave the show.

The aloof movie star everyone knows is completely at a loss, doing everything he can to comfort and encourage her, just so he can see her smile again.

Fans: ...!! So this is what you're really like, movie star!

Bonus scene:

Fei Yumeng becomes famous thanks to the show. Endorsement deals and acting roles come pouring in, and her schedule is packed.

At an event, a reporter asks her, "What do you think about all the netizens hoping you and Movie Star Pei will get together?"

Fei Yumeng smiles. "Oh, I wouldn't dare."

Passing behind her, Movie Star Pei bends down and whispers in her ear, "Come by my place later to pick up your bag."

Well, well. Have they already made themselves at home with each other?
