But the big shot Butter doesn't count. That's idol + husband.

From that day on, everyone at school knows Chen Yi's mom has a bad temper and won't let him date while he's young.

At twenty-three, Chen Yi goes to his college roommate's birthday party. He steps away to use the bathroom, and a soft, tipsy girl falls into his arms.

She sprawls against him, her face buried in the crook of his neck, and blows two breaths against him. "Chen Yi, if you don't like me, you're dead."

Chen Yi apologizes to his classmates as he carries her home on his back, tucks her into bed, and coaxes her to sleep.

The next morning, Lin Lingling wakes up in Chen Yi's bed. The owner of the bed walks in a moment later, watching her with an amused smile. "Chen Yi, if you don't like me, you're dead?"

Seeing the girl blush with embarrassment and bristle up, Chen Yi hurries over to coax her.

For Lin Lingling, falling in love with Chen Yi was fate, and had nothing to do with destiny bringing them together.
