Yun Qian spends a fortune to buy the heroine, a famous courtesan's, first night and gives her to... herself.

The next day, the heroine nestles in her arms as Yun Qian takes her back to the heir's residence, where their household-intrigue adventure begins.

A beautiful, scheming courtesan and her innocent, lively little princess.

In an apocalypse story:

Yun Qian beams ingratiatingly at the reborn heroine.

The reborn heroine pins her beneath her. "You'll repay me for what you owe, with your body."

In a xianxia story:

The frosty God of War looks at the little fox on the ground. "You've finally come back."

Later, someone asks Xu Zhiyi: "How did you win over the elite lawyer Lin?"

Xu Zhiyi smiles. "Boiling a frog in warm water."

Lin Yu, the frog: "Pick something else. I don't go ribbit."

The next day,

Lin Yu's friend asks in puzzlement: "Why did you change your WeChat profile picture to a frog?"

Lin Yu nods emphatically. "Right? I said frogs are no good at all."
