Blurb:
Yu Xia is a pampered young master. At twenty-three, he doesn't even know how to use a gas stove. He's grown into a bundle of bad habits, and if he has one redeeming quality, it's his gentle nature.
Shi Qiu was a child nobody wanted. He dropped out of middle school and started supporting himself. In the twenty years he's been alive, he's never complained about hardship or cried out in pain. If he has one flaw, it's his bad temper.
The second time they met was after Yu Xia got his wish and was thrown out of his home. He'd been starving for three days.
Yu Xia squatted beside a trash can, with several stray cats gathered nearby. Shi Qiu walked toward him in the backlight, shuffling along in his slippers with a bowl of rice in his hands. Yu Xia stared at the food and swallowed, thinking Shi Qiu must be an angel sent from heaven.
Their eyes met. Without changing his expression, Shi Qiu set the bowl down in front of the stray cats and glanced at Yu Xia. "Get lost."
Yu Xia froze for a few moments, then licked his back teeth and bit down on the side of Shi Qiu's hand.
Quick, precise, and vicious. Too bad he was so weak that Shi Qiu kicked him unconscious with one blow.
Shi Qiu looked at the neat row of teeth marks on his hand, then at Yu Xia, who lay motionless on the ground, filthy as a ball of dirt. Irritated, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Psychiatric hospital? There's a lunatic here, for fuck's sake."
Later, on a certain night when Yu Xia had left and then returned, Shi Qiu's eyes were red as he said in a nasal voice, "Hug me."
