Karl used to be a senior Hydra operative.

He took part in infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D. and was involved in the research targeting the mutant twins. He watched Captain America charge through crowds, Tony Stark soar into the sky, and agents come and go across the devastated streets of New York.

So it shouldn't be a problem that he died so easily, right?

When he woke up again, he was lying in bed, surrounded by stacks of documents and manuscripts. A loaded gun sat beneath his pillow.

The calendar was turned to the day before Captain America was pulled from the ice. Hydra's Karl had disappeared, leaving behind only Karl Hart, a mercenary with a mysterious past.

Karl Hart had a father who was a secret agent and a mother who had spent years in intensive care. He had caramel-colored eyes and long eyelashes, and whether he smiled or not, girls always seemed to like him.

Well... at least, that's how it looked to everyone else. His background was a mystery.

Why had he come back to life? Karl wasn't sure. But his current situation made him feel like a player with decent gear, whose way of gaining health was to feed on other people's emotions.
