ICS: Murder Case Tracker

[The new book, "A Mismatch for Survival," is currently being serialized. Give it a look if you're interested!] Blurb: A bizarre case of someone jumping to their death brings two people who have been apart for twelve years together again. Is it a coincidence, or is something else at play? The ICS Investigation Team in charge of the case catches a strange young man at the scene. He claims to have seen an important clue. "I can see what the dead saw while they were alive." Yan Ran has known since childhood that his eyes are special. By chance, he sees a vital clue to the tragedy that occurred twelve years ago. To find his childhood companion and uncover the truth from twelve years ago, he joins ICS as a detective. By searching for fragments of the dead's souls, he can see what they saw when they were alive and learn what they were obsessed with. "I believe in evidence more." Shi Han, chief of the forensic department of the ICS Investigation Team, is the first to say he doesn't believe Yan Ran's ridiculous claim. But as the cases progress, Shi Han can no longer convince himself that they're all coincidences. Do Yan Ran's eyes really see the truth? Shi Han never expected that the timid neighbor boy from his childhood would grow taller than him and even declare that he would protect him. But does Yan Ran know that Shi Han avoided him for twelve years to protect him from afar? Yan Ran: Now I know. From now on, I'll protect you. The ICS team works together to solve cases, but there seems to be a greater secret hidden behind them. Someone is pushing them forward, and the clues point to a locked-room murder case from twelve years ago. What happened twelve years ago? What is the person behind it all trying to accomplish? Beneath the old grime rising to the surface lies a mire that has been accumulating for years, ready to swallow everyone whole. Will they stand shoulder to shoulder and clear the clouds to see the sun, or fight separately and meet again at the summit? "What you see and what I see aren't mutually exclusive." "Your eyes and my scalpel will reveal the truth to the world." Before you start: 1. A scheming boy who can see ghosts and took up martial arts to work up his courage, only to end up knocking people out with one punch, and a taciturn forensic chief who's a walking encyclopedia of romantic lines. 2. Younger man, top protagonist (Yan Ran), childhood friends, both powerful. 3. The protagonist has spirit-seeing eyes and can see ghosts, so this is a partly supernatural story, but it's not scary and the supernatural elements are minimal. 4. The ICS Investigation Team is fictional. Its full name is "I Can See." 5. The author made up all the names by randomly smashing the keyboard. If any happen to match real names, I apologize in advance! Theme: We see different things and think different thoughts, yet you and I understand each other. Use my strength and do all I can to bring light to the world.
