Ning Yan transmigrates into a cultivation novel as a cannon-fodder shou, a universally despised character hated by both humans and ghosts.
He schemes to break up the protagonist gong and shou, but repeatedly gets face-slapped and humiliated, and meets a miserable end.
After transmigrating into the book, Ning Yan takes stock of his enormous fortune and declares: This vicious supporting male character is retiring effective immediately. Protagonists, gongs, and shous, all of you stay away from me. I'm done with this!
He takes his money and heads into the mountains to start a small sect and begin a new life.
On the sect's opening day, not a soul shows up.
The only one to come calling is a little wolf cub, dragging its tail behind it and panting miserably at him.
Ning Yan rubs the cub's soft, fluffy ears. Not bad. This little guy is under his protection now.
He never expected one fluffy little cub after another to turn up at his doorstep: a golden fox, a plush rabbit, a round little bird... All of them crying for him to pick them up.

Only then does he learn that the wolf cub he adopted is actually the vicious villain of this book.
And all these strange little creatures are the wolf cub's followers, future powerhouses who will shake the cultivation world.
From then on, a mysterious new force rises rapidly through the martial world.
Ning Yan leads the cubs as they run rampant through the cultivation world, and they spoil him rotten.
Jade Fox: Shizun, I found the most precious spiritual jade. I'll give it to you to wear.
Immortal Sparrow: Shizun, I've opened the largest medicinal garden in the immortal realm. Pick whatever you like.
White Tiger: Shizun, I beat up the demon king who bullied you.
Wolf Cub: Shizun, I'll give myself to you as your husband.
Ning Yan accepts every gift with a smile.
?? Wolf cub, why are you the only one whose approach is so different?
The cold, handsome youth gently kisses him. "Shizun, you've already promised me. You can't take it back."
"I raised the cub I picked up into the wrong sort of person.
The great villain doesn't want to cause trouble. He only wants to do me."
