A quick note: Sorry, this story is going into the cold palace for now and joining the “maybe I’ll finish it someday” collection. I’ll continue when I’m in the mood again.
Because of the premise, here’s an additional warning:
This is an if-timeline where nobody remembers anything! (Please take note!)
First, make sure you understand what an if-timeline is. Aside from the characters, the events and everything else have nothing to do with the original story. Please don’t equate the two. I’m not writing this to take a shot at anyone, either.
The whole point is a story about the domineering Wen Ruohan and the wickedly charismatic Yiling Patriarch uniting the cultivation world and establishing a low-budget version of the “Heavenly Court.” The romance is still exclusively WangXian, and that will never change.
There’s serious OOC and the logic is dead. Don’t copy the original characters’ personalities over wholesale, especially the villains’. Their upbringings are different. I believe that people are born good, and with a different upbringing and guidance, even the rotten Wen Chao could become someone like the formidable Wen Ruohan; even the selfish Jiang Wanyin could become someone as righteous as Wei Wuxian. That’s what an if-timeline means: the people who influenced their growth have changed.
P.S. You absolutely have to read this!
This isn’t a world-peace story where everyone gets along. You can tell from the blurb that Wei Ying still follows the ghost path, but the Sunshot Campaign definitely never happens.
Don’t argue with me that an outsider can’t become a young lord.
First, Wen Ruohan is the kind of autocrat who thinks he’s above everyone else. Go look at the original and see how the Wen clan members behave around him. They have to kneel even when they speak!
Second, think about how Madam Yu and her son, Cheng, were constantly paranoid and afraid that Wei Wuxian would take Jiang Cheng’s place. Then think about how the Gusu Lan Clan accepted Wen Yuan as a direct-line clan member.
Third, the Wen clan members’ opposition and internal strife over this matter haven’t been written yet. That doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Don’t fill in the blanks for me, and then blame me for it.
A different situation, a different life.
Theme: A different situation, a different life.
Your derivative article has a unique concept and is very interesting. I can't help but feel envious after reading it. It's such a good article. I agree with many of your views. I sincerely hope you can continue writing this article. Thank you!
Although Xianxian is a genius in cultivation, he is also a master of scientific research. Unfortunately, this Xuanzheng Edison was seriously ruined in the original work. Now that Mr. Wen is doting on him, he can finally make inventions properly.
Oh! Squeezed out Jin Zixuan
Hahahaha, I was laughing so hard
It's been a while since I've updated.
It was well written, but it's gone
If Xianxian was not in the Jiang family, the relationship between Madam Yu and Sect Master Jiang would not be as tense as in the original work. Jiang Cheng's somewhat petty temper would not be as extreme as in the original work. There is really nothing so dark about it.
I seem to remember that Yun Shen was not allowed to laugh for no reason, so why not punish him every time he laughed?
Wen Ruohan: Who is talking about me? Red and fiery, in a trance
Well written, will there be more updates?
