An ordinary case brings Qin Ge, head of the Zero Unit, and Yu Mian, a university professor, together. The two had nothing to do with each other, but Yu Mian's face-loving nature draws them closer and closer.
At their first meeting, Qin Ge thinks Yu Mian is a black-bellied cat, while Yu Mian thinks Qin Ge is a walking iceberg. Then one day, Qin Ge witnesses the supposedly frail Yu Mian beating up five people, while Yu Mian catches the supposedly unapproachable Qin Ge secretly eating sweets. They both realize at the same time: the other's public image is all wrong.
Qin Ge: So Yu Mian is actually a meat-eating leopard.
Yu Mian: So Qin Ge is actually a prickly sweetheart.
A missing file and a string of coincidences gradually lead Qin Ge and Yu Mian to uncover a long-buried truth. Then a team member meets with an accident, a loved one passes away, and an atmosphere of terror envelops the entire Zero Unit.
Faced with everyone's silence, Yu Mian tells Qin Ge the four-word motto he's kept close to his heart for years: Screw this!
Qin Ge and Yu Mian: Getting your cover blown isn't scary. Whoever panics is the one who looks awkward.
Theme: Justice will ultimately prevail, and the light will come.
