Reborn as a Butcher's Daughter

Yang Jiu transmigrates into the life of a butcher's dim-witted daughter. Her father injures his leg, leaving all the villages within ten li without anyone to butcher their pigs, so she takes up her father's cleaver.

Afraid he might die and leave his silly daughter with no one to care for her, her father uses the kindness he once showed a poor scholar to force him into marrying his daughter.

When Yang Jiu arrives and learns that her father has done such a wicked thing, she runs to the scholar's home to break off the engagement.

She has no objection to her parents making decisions for her, but she won't eat a melon that's been forcibly twisted off the vine.

The scholar isn't weak, and he's handsome, tall, with clear, open features that are hard to forget.

Yang Jiu thinks that maybe a forcibly twisted melon tastes even sweeter!
