The first time I met Mary Meng, she was fourteen, with curly hair and a doll in her arms, looking at me timidly.
Aunt Meng nudged her. "Come on, call her big sister."
Mary hid behind Aunt Meng, her face bright red. "But she's obviously a boy."
[Synopsis Two]
At twenty-two, Mary Meng brought home a boyfriend. He shook my hand warmly. "Nice to meet you, sis."
That night, I heard someone rustling around at the door. Mary crept into my bed.
I held her tight and said, "Mary, do you have no shame?"
