In the Yu Dynasty, there have been sixteen emperors and sixteen Gu chief ministers. The Gu clan has been loyal to the country, the throne, and all under heaven. In those days, treacherous officials and rebels ran rampant, and the court was in decline. One man, once a dazzling genius of the Gu family, became a fugitive. Another, a crown prince skilled in both letters and arms, was held hostage and used to control the emperor. See how the two join forces as equals and set the court abuzz. Across the land, peace will prevail. With good fortune secured, let it be proclaimed to all under heaven!
And so, one day at court:
"Right Chancellor Gu has devoted himself wholeheartedly to the country. I am deeply grateful. Why don't I..."
An elderly minister interrupted him. "Your Majesty, Chancellor Gu already holds the post of Right Chancellor and the title of Grand Preceptor. There are no more honors left to bestow upon him."
"In that case, how about I make you Empress?"
The entire court: ???
Right Chancellor Gu: ???
Right Chancellor Gu: Your Majesty, I believe this is inappropriate...
His Majesty Yu Zheng: I don't care what you think. I say it's appropriate, and that's that.
Right Chancellor Gu: QAQ?!
[Main pairing: Yu Zheng x Gu Qianchen, two equally strong leads, happy ending]
