A Tender Illusion

Guan Yu, the eldest young master of the Guan family, has been exceptional since childhood and has always been the standard that his peers in high society are measured against. He is aloof and proud, with a cold, eccentric temperament. Even his own younger brother wouldn't dare act carelessly around him. But Lin Zhijue is an exception. She follows Guan Yu around, gentle and obsequious, bending over backward to please him and doing all sorts of ridiculous things for his sake, without the slightest regret. People tease him, “Lin Zhijue likes you so much. You could at least give her some attention.” Guan Yu furrows his brow. “She should know her place.” At the time, Lin Zhijue is standing right beside him, head bowed, her expression dejected. - Lin Zhijue realizes that Guan Yu is the only one who can stop the people who bully her. She resolves to attach herself to him so that neither she nor her mother, who works as a servant, will be mistreated anymore. No matter how cold and indifferent Guan Yu is, Lin Zhijue doesn't care. Later, Lin Zhijue leaves without hesitation, vanishing completely from Guan Yu's world. No one knows that the eldest young master of the Guan family, who seems invincible to outsiders, has long since fallen apart inside over one woman, utterly and completely defeated. He goes mad searching for Lin Zhijue. When they meet again, the woman smiles brightly, but her words are merciless: “Young Master Guan, you have no more use to me.” “So don't get above yourself.” Once so high above her, like a cold moon suspended in the sky, he ultimately chooses to descend into her palm. ° A heroine who pretends to be gentle so she can live a smooth life × a hero who falls so deeply he ends up groveling for her Theme: Love is a drink that gets everyone drunk
