The Freshest Shade [Revenge of a Wife of a Gay Man]

[A beautiful story of brotherly love, a wife helping take down a PUA abuser]

In the Wei and Jin dynasties, men favored men, and most wives were little more than tools for bearing children. In ancient times, they were called "wives of gay men."

These women had never known love, so they would never lose it when their beauty faded. Their beauty remained fresh throughout their lives, yet no one ever appreciated it.

Hence the phrase "beauty that stays fresh."

The novel's setting draws on the culture of the Wei, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties, but the specific dynasty is fictional.

A turbulent age of conflict between north and south, full of political schemes and slaughter.

A story about a vulnerable wife of a gay man living under the patriarchy. She fights her unjust fate, turns the tables on a hypocritical cold-abusing PUA, sets her little PUA son's values straight, and finds a new life.

Important: The story follows two generations, each with its own couple. No incest.

The story has a broad scope, so it is long and slow to heat up. It starts bitter and turns sweet. The early part of the Willow in the Dark chapter may feel oppressive, but it's necessary for the plot. If that's not for you, please don't read.

Note: All classical poems and prose in the novel are original unless otherwise attributed. Please do not plagiarize them.

Theme: Seek love without hurting others, keep your values straight, and don't torment people
