The Disabled Tyrant's Substitute Darling Empress

Song Yu was sent into the palace in place of his elder sister to marry the old emperor. But after his identity as a man was exposed, he was showered with insults and hateful looks, then locked away in the Cold Palace for two whole years.

To survive, Song Yu walked on eggshells, forcing himself to smooth away every rough edge.

Before he could outlast the old emperor, someone seized the throne from him.

The new emperor's silver armor was stained with blood. His brows were cold, his gaze sharp, and the realm's power lay in his hands. When the palace gates swung open, he did something in full view of everyone: he carried the former emperor's deposed empress out of the Cold Palace.

Rumor had it that the new emperor was blind, lowborn, and cruel, and that he had once murdered his father and elder brother. Everyone thought Song Yu was as good as dead.

Song Yu thought so, too.

He waited and waited, but instead of meeting his end, he went from being the old dynasty's empress to the new dynasty's empress, and Huo Shen's affection for him grew with each passing day.

"I know you're plain-looking, so don't worry. I'm blind. I won't neglect you or favor anyone else because of your appearance."

"..." Song Yu wanted to say something, but stopped himself.

Later, when Huo Shen regained his sight, he stared blankly at Song Yu's breathtaking face.

Song Yu smiled faintly. "I'm plain-looking. I'm afraid I'll offend Your Majesty's eyes."

Huo Shen: I was wrong.
