My next book, After Raising the Wrong Golden Canary as a Villainous Supporting Male Character (Transmigrate into a Book), is up for pre-order. The blurb is at the very bottom. If you’re interested, little angels, please add it to your favorites~ Sending love
Blurb:
God said: You are my homeland.
Blurb One:
Lu Se wakes from a long slumber as an amnesiac young man who remembers nothing but his own name. His sudden-appearance great-uncle gives him a braised pork shop on a street paved with purple seashells.
After his first night on the street, Lu Se finds two jade discs and a little flower sprite outside his home;
After his second night on the street, Lu Se finds a bundle of rice and a group of little cat spirits outside his home;
The spirits happily announce that they’re going to hold a sacrifice for the deity of this land.
Lu Se: ?
After his nth night on the street, Lu Se finds a fish outside his home: a mermaid
The mermaid slowly pokes his head out of a silver tub full of water. With black hair and golden eyes, he looks like a celestial being. He clings to the edge of the tub and smiles innocently at Lu Se, revealing a mouthful of pearly white, pointed teeth.
“Glug, glug.” The pot bubbles with heat and fragrance.
The mermaid blinks his sun-bright eyes. “I want to eat braised pork, and you.”
“Splash.” His shimmering silver tail flicks up a lively spray of water.
Lu Se stares blankly into the mermaid’s golden eyes, his throat bobbing. He’s fallen in love...
Later, he learns that the little mermaid sells wakame next door, and business is terrible. Lu Se sighs sympathetically and secretly vows to work hard and earn enough to support his adorable little sweetheart.
The mermaid, master of the whole street, smiles and shows his pointed teeth. “Mm-hmm, I’ll be a good boy and let you support me, Se Se. You be a good boy and let me eat you, too.”
Blurb Two:
Ji Fu is the only mermaid in the world. Mermaids are vicious by nature, drawn to the cold and the dark. They have sharp teeth and claws, and the instinct and strength to drag their prey into the abyss, keep them for themselves, and tear them apart. The first time Ji Fu sees Lu Se, the bestial nature hidden deep within him stirs and roars: Take him from the world. Make him yours alone. Hide him away
The black-haired young man smiles at him amid the sunlight and breeze.
So the mermaid can’t help hiding his sharp teeth and retracting his claws, carefully gathering more sunlight and breeze to offer him.
“I’m jealous of the world you love, but I don’t want you to be sad, so I’ll bring the world to you.”
Little skit (?):
Mermaid: He’s a frail little thing who couldn’t hurt a fly.
Deity: He’s a fragile, helpless little sweetheart.
Mermaid/Deity: Without me, the whole world would bully him. (In unison.jpg)
Villain: Backing away three paces.jpg
Notes:
1. Mermaid Ji Fu (gong) x Lu Se (shou). The mermaid can take human form and spends most of his time outside his juvenile form. The shou is not human. Set in an alternate modern world.
2. Includes lots of elements from the Classic of Mountains and Seas and various spirits, as well as plenty of the author’s own worldbuilding.
3. Both the gong and the shou are powerful characters, already max-level from the start, but each thinks the other is a helpless little thing who needs protecting.
4. From beginning to end, the gong and shou only care about each other. If there’s a white-moonlight element, that white moonlight will definitely be the other person.
After Raising the Wrong Golden Canary as a Villainous Supporting Male Character (Transmigrate into a Book):
Blurb One:
Lu Bai transmigrates into a book, becoming Lu Bai, the villainous supporting male character who can’t win the heart of the protagonist gong in the powerful-couple danmei novel Snow of Yore.
Like countless other villainous supporting male characters, the Lu Bai in the novel does everything he can to sabotage the protagonist gong Qin Gu and the protagonist shou Qu Xueyu’s relationship, only to bring about his own ruin in the end.
But this villainous supporting male character, Lu Bai, is a little different: he goes about ruining himself in a unique way, and he’s thoroughly warped.
Other villainous supporting male characters raise canaries and stand-ins, at most keeping a stand-in for their own white moonlight.
But Lu Bai raises a stand-in for the person his white moonlight loves: a stand-in for the protagonist shou, Qu Xueyu. Using despicable methods like threats and bribes, he keeps a canary who looks very much like Qu Xueyu. He claims it’s to humiliate his rival in love, but all he ends up doing is ruining himself completely.
Looking at this teeth-grinding plot after transmigrating into the book, Lu Bai is at a loss. But to finish the storyline and go home, he steels himself and gets to it
“You’re Ruan Jiangjiu?” He corners the handsome young man, who’s a head taller than him, in an alley and throws a bank card in front of him. “Short on cash? Let me...” Lu Bai grits his teeth and finally blurts out the rest in despair: “S-s-sleep with me for one night, and a million is yours!”
Ruan Jiangjiu looks at the young man before him, who’s all bark and no bite, his face and ears completely red, like a little cat with its fur standing on end. An amused, dangerous smile appears on his face.
Blurb Two:
The award-winning actor Qu Xueyu takes on a somewhat unusual role: a poor student with psychological problems who eventually turns evil. So he disguises himself, takes the alias Ruan Jiangjiu, and goes around taking odd jobs to experience life.
He never imagined that the young rich wastrel who’s always trailing after his childhood friend Qin Gu would ask him to be his canary. Even less did he expect that becoming a canary would be addictive.
Bitter Lu Bai: “Xiao Ruan, as long as you can piss off that Qu Xueyu, I’ll get you whatever resources you want. I’ll even buy you an award-winning actor title! One even better than Qu Xueyu’s!”
