I sat on the roof, gazing at the full moon, and felt inexplicably melancholy.
I couldn't help shouting out, feeling utterly exhilarated.
The price of that exhilaration was waking my master, who scolded me for a full quarter of an hour.
I said nothing, only realizing that lately I had become much more sentimental. My senior brother said I was going through puberty, and that it was perfectly normal.
But I didn't tell him that every year when I saw the full moon, I felt as if I were waiting for someone.
Then one day, someone really did appear.
He was carrying a roast chicken, acting like a madman. He handed me a drumstick and shouted, "Wife!!!"
I was so startled that I rolled off the roof. "...Huh???"
Why was I so surprised?
1. I didn't know him.
2. I'm a man, and so is he.
3. He's a monk, too.
An aloof monk who goes a little crazy now and then, the pursuer x a celestial sect disciple who pretends to be proper, the pursued
Note:
1. This is a story of past and present lives. In other words, the pursuer is a monk now, but wasn't in his previous life. The same goes for the pursued.
2. This is actually a romantic tale about an Emperor and the Moon Goddess.
