Rising in the Glass Castle [GL]

2005 At twenty-eight, Shi Yeshang is selfish and cold-blooded. Her greatest pleasure in life seems to be tormenting others. At twenty-eight, Wang Gu is materialistic and enamored with foreign things. Luckily, she's a workaholic, or she could never support herself. At twenty-six, Lin Senbai always sleeps with the window open, even if he's freezing to death. At fourteen, Hua Duanzhu hopes to be top of her class every year and become a good teacher one day. 2006 Twenty-nine-year-old Shi Yeshang has been missing for half a year, and her long-held wish has vanished without a trace. Twenty-nine-year-old Wang Gu gets her dream, but can't enjoy it. Twenty-seven-year-old Lin Senbai buys a ring and gives it to a madam. Fifteen-year-old Hua Duanzhu enters a private school and meets a good teacher. 2007 Thirty-year-old Shi Yeshang is caught up in a mystery of the heart, but gradually learns to look forward to things. Thirty-year-old Wang Gu is trapped in the utopia she once thought wonderful, and her love is beginning to sour. Twenty-eight-year-old Lin Senbai buys another ring, and gives it to the same madam. Sixteen-year-old Hua Duanzhu is gradually learning about the adult world, but that's all it is: learning about it. 2008 What will happen to thirty-one-year-old Shi Yeshang? What will happen to thirty-one-year-old Wang Gu? What will happen to twenty-nine-year-old Lin Senbai? And what will happen to seventeen-year-old Duanzhu? Well, this... Business wars, battles of the heart. Life is probably a war, and the greatest winner will always be the one who believes they're happy.
