[Blurb One]
Liang Ruan came from a distinguished family and was the little princess everyone adored.
She heard that a neighbor's son had moved in next door to the Liang family. He was refined and composed, always self-disciplined and distant, keeping everyone at arm's length.
As Bo Jing tutored Liang Ruan day after day, she secretly filled a thick sketchbook with pictures of her unrequited love. Inside were countless profile portraits of the same man.
Bo Jing became her greatest wish as a young girl.
Then, at the New Year's concert in the year she graduated, Liang Ruan waited for him in the heavy snow until he finished. She also witnessed with her own eyes the two of them embracing intimately.
That night was cold to the bone.
[Blurb Two]
After years apart, Liang Ruan saw Bo Jing again at a banquet. The man leaned against the second-floor landing, exhaling smoke as he rested both hands on the railing and chatted with someone. He seemed indifferent and carefree, looking down on everyone around him.
Beneath the dim corridor lights, the pungent smell of rain filled the air.
Liang Ruan wiped the lipstick left at the corner of her mouth with her fingertip, then resumed her usual mild expression. Beautiful and graceful, she stood out at once.
"Mr. Bo, excuse me."
In the empty space, her delicate heels brushed against his leather shoes as she passed him, one step at a time.
The man reached out and grabbed Liang Ruan's wrist. His grip was firm, restrained yet tense, with a stiff, awkward bitterness to it, but he said:
"Liang Ruan, listen to how softly you're panting. How is that supposed to be a rejection?"
