When Dongqing was young, she was one of the biggest little tyrants in the neighborhood.

The little tyrant turned over a new leaf when a handsome, fair-skinned older boy moved in next door. He was so good-looking it didn't seem real.

Her reformation ended when, years later, someone asked the older boy about their relationship, and he waved his hands repeatedly, insisting, "Don't be ridiculous. How could I possibly like her?"

That year, she heard her heart shatter into a thousand pieces.

After fleeing in a panic, she never dared turn back to look at the scenery again.

For more than twenty years, Pei Jibai's life had gone smoothly. He had hardly ever taken a wrong step.

During a game of Truth or Dare, someone once asked him, "If you had a time machine, when would you most want to go back to?"

He gently turned his glass and stayed silent for a long time. Just when everyone thought he wouldn't answer, he looked at Dongqing in the corner, tilted his head back, and drained his drink.

"I suppose when I was eighteen."

He knew that spilled water could never be gathered up again, but he had regretted it countless times.

He wanted to return to that afternoon, take back the words he hadn't meant, open the door, and hold the girl who was eavesdropping outside.

Then they wouldn't have missed ten years together.
