Has the Demon Lord Been Cremated Yet?

[Blurb] The most rebellious thing Shen Yanbing ever did was feel pity for a certain demonic cultivator. He took him home, cared for him every day, restored his bones and muscles, and urged him to return to the righteous path. Then the man stabbed straight through him. Eight years later, Shen Yanbing is the leader of the righteous sects and the commander in the war between the righteous and demonic paths. By the banks of the Dark River, Shen Yanbing strikes relentlessly, aiming straight for his opponent's head. The newly crowned Demon Venerable, Gu Jiyun, raises an eyebrow and smiles. His voice is low and husky. "Sect Leader Shen, what exactly are you doing?" Shen Yanbing lifts his head. The love he once felt is gone, replaced by a cold intent to kill. "Exorcising a demon." #Ten years of cold discipline, and at last the passion has gone cold# [Theatrical, tsundere demon venerable bottom x cool, upright sect leader top] * Yesterday, the Demon Venerable was a teahouse server. The day before, he was a wildflower by the road. Today, he simply sneaks into Jueyun Sect. Looking at the cheerful fake disciple who is actually the real Demon Venerable, Shen Yanbing says helplessly, "What brings the Demon Venerable here today?" Gu Jiyun drops his disguise. His peach-blossom phoenix eyes are utterly sincere. "My karmic burdens remain, so I cannot become a god. Sect Leader, please deliver me." Shen Yanbing: "Go to a temple to be delivered from suffering." Gu Jiyun carefully pinches the corner of the other's robe, his eyes slowly turning red. "I went, but for some reason, every scripture I recited night after night had your name in it." Only after you left did I realize that all the vastness of heaven and earth is no match for you. Killing people and becoming a demon is not my karmic burden. You are. No god or Buddha in the heavens can deliver me. Only you can. Theme: Strive to improve yourself and never surrender to fate.
