Blurb: When the Duke of Song's family fell into ruin, Song Yuan, the daughter of a disgraced official, was forced to marry into the Marquis's household to bring good fortune to a sick man.
The man she was to marry had a crippled leg, a cold and sinister temperament, and a fearsome reputation. He had risen from humble beginnings to wield power over the realm, leaving countless corpses in his wake.
Many people advised her to run away. Song Yuan curved her red lips into a faint smile and gently shook her head. That very day, a small bridal sedan carried her resolutely through the Chu family's gates.
Everyone in the Chu family expected to see a tearful, mournful face. Instead, Song Yuan smiled from beginning to end.
They all had no idea. Song Yuan had been reborn.
In her previous life, she listened to other people's advice. After fleeing from her wedding, she was harmed by someone and left with a ruined body.
As she lay on the brink of death, Chu Xun rescued her, gave her a place to stay, and accompanied her through the rest of her days.
As her soul faded away, she saw the man, usually so stern and reserved, shed a single tear and press a kiss to her cold wrist.
At that moment, Song Yuan seemed to understand something, as if she had missed something important.
In this life, Song Yuan was determined to discover what she had missed.
When Chu Xun was young, a little girl once saved his life. To repay her kindness, he stayed by her side and protected her, watching the girl grow day by day until she gradually became the woman in his heart.
But he still had an old score to settle, and he was physically impaired. He knew he wasn't worthy of her.
Some people were like the moon. It was enough to gaze at them from afar. He reminded himself of this every day.
Yet with every time Song Yuan came to his defense, and with every tenderness she showed him, he sank deeper and deeper.

[Blurb]
In his previous life, Lu Yuanjing's only regret had to do with his concubine.
One day, assassins attacked the household, and she calmly took a blade meant for him, dying in his place. While she was alive, Lu Yuanjing had only seen her a few times and had never once truly looked at her.
Reborn, Lu Yuanjing thought: Since she loves me so much that she's willing to die for me, it can't hurt to treat her a little better.
Fortunately, this Song woman had a few minor flaws, but she was gentle and sweet, never stirred up trouble, knew how to behave, and was tender and thoughtful.
She would wash her hands and cook for him, and stay up by the lamplight waiting for him to come home...
As time passed, Lu Yuanjing gradually fell for her.
One day, he said, "Once my cousin comes to live here soon, I'll promote you to equal wife."
Song's voice was gentle and soft. "I'll do as you wish, my lord."
On the day of his engagement, a fire broke out at the household. The whole capital heard the news: the young Lord Lu's beloved concubine had died in her prime.

Song Wu felt she had been born unlucky.
In her previous life, she had been cautious and dutiful as Lu Yuanjing's concubine. Who could have known assassins would break into the Lu household? In the chaos, someone shoved Song Wu, and she took a blade meant for Lu Yuanjing, losing her life.
Reborn, Song Wu thought: The Duke's household isn't a place for me, and that heartless man has no heart.
Might as well sweet-talk Lu Yuanjing, make some money off him, and wait for a chance to slip away...

[Little Scene 1]
Song Wu went south.
One day, Song Wu leaned against a painted boat and listened to the rain. Without warning, the boat lurched and drifted to the middle of the lake. Heaven only knew why Lu Yuanjing had appeared in front of her.
His eyes were bloodshot, and he was nothing like his usual aloof self. "Either come back with me, or we die together."
"I'll go back with you, my lord." The woman's red lips curved up.
Her smile was truly bewitching. But Lu Yuanjing knew she was always lying. He ought to build a cage and keep her by his side.

[Little Scene 2]
Long after the two were married, Lu Yuanjing accidentally came across one of Song Wu's notebooks.
"Dreamt Lu Yuanjing kicked me out of bed. So irritating. Then I remembered he doesn't like spicy food, so I washed my hands and cooked for him. It was so spicy I got burned by it too."
"Waited for Lu Yuanjing to come home today and got so sleepy. If I weren't after his little fortune, I would have left ages ago..."
"Lu Yuanjing called me his darling today. Who's his darling? How revolting!"
With a dark expression, Lu Yuanjing flipped to the last page:
"I've been agonizing over this for ages. Should I tell Lu Yuanjing that taking a blade for him in my previous life was just an unfortunate accident?"
Blurb for The Live-in Son-in-Law
Song Shan rescued a slave in front of the Guanyin Hall. (Blurb to be continued.)
Rain poured down relentlessly. The man was covered in wounds, and blood streamed from his body with the rain, spilling across the bluestone steps.
Song Shan didn't rescue him out of pity. She had her own reasons.
Chu Qingli remembered that rainy day. Raindrops pattered down, and the temple far away was shrouded in gloom. The peach blossoms overhead were heavy, and everything was a somber shade.
Everything except the woman before him.
The woman stood on the stone steps, looking down at him. Her skirt was a deep red, and her cloud-toed shoes were emerald green.
She told him to raise his head, then said, word by word, "Marry me, and I'll save you."
