A Wife of Breathtaking Beauty

That day, the sunset was as red as blood.

She wore red, breathtakingly beautiful, seated atop the city wall as she watched him, clad in silver armor, stepping over a river of blood and the bodies of the dead as he came toward her, one step at a time.

The flames of war he had set alight swallowed the imperial city where she was imprisoned.

In this life, her peerless beauty had left her at the mercy of one warlord after another.

And the man who could have protected her, sparing her a life of wandering and hardship, was the one she had let slip away.

If she could return to that day, she would hold his hand tight.

She would accompany him to the battlefield, share the blood on his hands, and walk with him through mountains of corpses and rivers of blood...
