Law graduate Meng Qiyue applies to Shanhai Law Firm because she wants to work with Xu Ying, the untouchable beauty of the Magic City's legal world. But of the four interviewers, Xu is the only one who rejects her.

After joining Shanhai Law Firm, Meng Qiyue spends her days eagerly running errands, hoping to become Xu's intern assistant. Xu Ying, however, is starting to find her irritating.

One day, Meng Qiyue shows up at Xu's home early in the morning again to bring her breakfast.

Xu Ying leans against the doorframe with her arms crossed, watching Meng Qiyue pant for breath. She says coldly, "I'll be honest with you. I like women. My assistant can't just help me with work. She also has to meet all my needs in my personal life, including sex. If you can't do that, stop bothering me."

Meng Qiyue is completely stunned.

That night, Xu Ying gets home very late. Just as she's about to close the door, a slender, pale hand suddenly holds it open.

Meng Qiyue hands Xu Ying a document, her voice shy but utterly resolute. "This is a contract I drafted for a personal assistant. The contract with the firm doesn't cover these things."

In all her years as a lawyer, this is the first time Xu Ying has been left speechless.

Years later, on a quiet afternoon, Meng Qiyue accidentally finds the contract at home.

She holds it up in front of Xu Ying and demands an explanation. "Sister Xu, you were so awful back then! You just let me sign such an unfair contract."

"Honey, I was wrong," Xu Ying says immediately, trying to bluff her way out of it.

Meng Qiyue presses her further. "And why were you the only one who rejected me at the interview?"

Xu Ying pulls Meng Qiyue into her arms. "Honey, I really was wrong."
