While running for his life, he spots a tall, slender man whose face is half-hidden in darkness.
With a chainsaw-wielding killer hot on their heels,
Wu Lu grabs the man's hand and takes off running:

Xie Lingqiao dips his head slightly, revealing an intriguing smile. Sure.
The chainsaw-wielding ghost trembles and abruptly changes direction.
Later, Xie Lingqiao deliberately gets left behind after someone sets him up.
When Wu Lu turns back and finds him,
Xie Lingqiao leans in, resting his chin on Wu Lu's shoulder.
His hand slowly slides from Wu Lu's back to his neck.
It looks like a comforting gesture, but he's really wondering how to kill him.
Should he snap his neck, or crush his skull?
But Wu Lu pulls him into his arms, his voice trembling. Xie Lingqiao.
You have no idea how scared I was. I was afraid you'd die.
Xie Lingqiao's fingers freeze in midair. Soon, his hand falls.
He asks strangely, Did you come back for me on purpose?
Xie Lingqiao glances at the ghost cowering in the corner. His urge to kill Wu Lu fades.
He tells himself: Next time. Next time Wu Lu leaves him behind, he'll kill him.
Later, after Xie Lingqiao turns the game's boss to dust,
he presses Wu Lu against a wall. Big brother, be with me.
Wu Lu has nowhere left to retreat. B-but this place forbids romance.
Xie Lingqiao curls his lips. So what? You took my hand, so you can't let go now.
