Diary of the Reborn Xuanwu

A long time ago, one day, the Heavenly Dao, Hongjun, sent down a heavenly punishment to destroy the world and put an end to the wars and chaos of the mortal realm. Yue Liang, clan leader of the Xuanwu, unleashed a great seal to save his people. His divine meridians shattered, and he died of exhaustion.

Much later, when a brand-new Jiuzhou wilderness had come into being, Yue Liang, now an old tortoise, awoke in a lost divine temple. He found himself sleeping in a stone coffin, with a contractual spouse beside him whom he didn't recognize at all.

Forgetting his husband wasn't even the worst part. Worse was that a flock of birdmen wanted to make thousand-year-old tortoise soup. They used whatever was at hand and lifted his stone coffin onto a fire to roast him, with only a sprinkle of cumin missing.

Old tortoise Yue Liang turned around and cast an explosive magic array, sending the birdmen fleeing in terror. And so every tribe in the surrounding area learned that an ancient god of the Xuanwu had awakened.

The young Xuanwu had successfully awakened their ancestor. According to the legacy records, this ancestor would save the Xuanwu, who had fallen to the bottom of the food chain; drive off the various demon beasts and hybrids of the Jiuzhou wilderness; find the lost Dragon Gate; and help the Xuanwu regain their divine beast status.

The ancestor has divine powers. The ancestor is a savior!

Amid the hopeful gazes of the younger Xuanwu, their savior Yue Liang hesitated. "Oh no, I can't use my divine powers anymore."

The Xuanwu: "...Sob QAQ."

Yue Liang, after recovering some of his memories: "Hey, even though you abandoned your husband and child in your previous life, demanded that our bond of fate be severed, and have become mute in this life and don't love me at all anymore, I still love you."

His contractual spouse Taiyang, rendered mute by his depleted spiritual power, had no way to explain himself.

Wait, he said abandoned her husband and... child?

Taiyang's heart shuddered. "What? We have a child?"

Yue Liang: "Holy crap, you can talk now?"
