Most people have beautiful memories of their youth. For a small number of people, however, youth isn't so beautiful. They may even hate their younger years because of mistreatment or unfair experiences, caused by school, family, society, classmates, or other factors. But as long as they keep looking toward the light, life can still be beautiful. This story follows the friendship between four people: Chen Xia, Han Dong, Yu Chun, and Yu Qiu. When they were young, both girls, Chen Xia and Yu Qiu, fell for Han Dong, but their friendship wasn't weakened by it. Later, Yu Qiu went down the wrong path and got caught up in online loans. Someone took nude photos of her and used them to threaten her. When she couldn't pay back the loan in time, the photos were posted online, and netizens doxxed her. Chen Xia had been quietly keeping an eye on Yu Qiu all along. In the end, both girls were humiliated. After struggling desperately, Chen Xia bravely stood up to expose the criminals' crimes. Yu Qiu couldn't accept what had happened and eventually chose to end her life. Chen Xia blamed herself terribly, believing she'd caused Yu Qiu's death. Then Yu Chun went to prison for revenge, and Han Dong disappeared without a trace. Chen Xia also tried to take her own life, but was saved, losing an entire year of her memory. As an adult, Chen Xia returns to the place where they once lived. Yu Chun's desire for revenge brings back Chen Xia's memories, and she is overcome with pain. Yu Chun then kidnaps her, and she falls seriously ill. After recovering, Chen Xia changes her name to Xia Qiu. She says that from now on, she will be both Chen Xia and Yu Qiu. After enduring all kinds of hardships, Chen Xia and Han Dong finally end up together.
