When You Return [Matriarchal Society]

On the continent of women, the Dongli Kingdom lies in the north. In the ancient capital of Changting, the three great families, Yan, Qi, and Liu, are all famed for their beauty.

But the Yan family suffered a misfortune. Their eldest son, Yan Lingyue, was breathtakingly beautiful until the age of twelve. Then an accident left him disfigured and with a leg injury. He spent his days veiled and limping.

Eight years later, few people in Dongli still remembered the eldest Yan son, but everyone knew the celebrated love story between the Yan family's handsome fourth son and Prince Hui, Xiao Li.

Far away in the wilderness of Wufei Mountain, Xiao Li sneezed. After transmigrating here, she had long since grown used to life in this world, but with the day of her imminent return to the capital drawing closer, she was so miserable that two more wrinkles appeared at the corners of her eyes.

No one could have known that Yan Lingyue, who had been driven mad by the love he had poured into her in his youth, had waited for her through day after hopeless day.

He had forged a cage for himself, shutting himself inside, and he was determined to imprison her there, too.

Silly little scene:

After yet another attempt by a little vixen outside to steal her man, Yan Lingyue finally snapped.

Xiao Li: I sense murderous intent. Why is the back of my head suddenly freezing?

Yan Lingyue: I'm done pretending. Here's the truth.

So when Xiao Li came home that night and stepped inside: Oh my, that's a huge bed. Who's it for? ...

Male lead: I know I'm covered in mud, but no matter how many years pass, nothing will change. I want only you.

Female lead: You gave me a lifetime of love and devotion. I'll give you a lifetime of exclusive affection.

Obsessively devoted male lead x all-capable female lead

Author's note: This is a classic, melodramatic romance trope, with a universally adored female lead, male pregnancy, one-on-one romance, and a happy ending. Don't expect logic, and please don't nitpick.
