The Chief Minister Is a Proper Man

Zhen Zhen is set up by someone

and frozen in an underground cellar for ten whole years.

Everyone thinks she is dead.

Ten years pass, and she still looks just as she did before,

but the world outside has changed beyond recognition.

The Zhen family is implicated and executed for treason,

while her former fiancé has risen to the ranks of the nobility and married someone else.

*

But the young man she once teased and called a bookworm

has now become a famous and immensely powerful chief councilor.

*

This is the story of a rebel's surviving relative doing odd jobs at the chief councilor's residence and falling into a love-hate relationship with him.

*

A cool, aloof older heartthrob vs. a goofy former goddess

1. Lighthearted daily life, set in an alternate world. No need to nitpick the details.

2. The heroine is still beautiful, and the hero is still swoon-worthy.

[A brooding, proud young general x a Ministry of Justice investigator disguised as a man]

He Ziyu's greatest wish is to scrape by as an investigator at the Ministry of Justice until she becomes a vice minister.

She wants to become an impressive third-rank official one day.

But in Shen Tong's eyes, the commander of the Imperial Guards,

she is a little bastard who is honey-tongued, treacherous, and cowardly.

He Ziyu thinks

that this commander, who can anger the Eastern Depot's chief to death and beat the Embroidered Uniform Guard's commander flat,

is a fiend who thinks he rules heaven and earth, someone best avoided from a distance.

Who knew that he would later become her landlord and her protector,

and even want to pin her down and play at being lovers.

A little scene:

In the bitter cold of midwinter, the wind cuts to the bone.

Little He can barely brace herself against the desk, her face flushed as she bites her lip.

The person behind her leans close, his cool, sharp eyes shadowed, his expression almost a smile.

"In the dead of winter, I'll warm you up properly, Lord He."
