The year Ming Sui turned eighteen, a System appeared in her mind out of nowhere and showed her what she would be like at twenty:
She died beneath the wheels of a car. Nearby, a young, handsome man watched with cold indifference.
Ming Sui jolted awake, clutching her chest as she gasped for breath. She remembered that the man was Yi Xu, her fiance, whom she had never met. Their families had arranged their betrothal when they were children.
She had come of age a few days ago, and her parents had shown her his photograph.
The System told her that the world she lived in was a novel. Yi Xu was the male lead, and the heroine was his childhood friend, who had shared his hardships.
In the book, Ming Sui used their engagement as an excuse to try to break the couple up. She repeatedly targeted the heroine, until she got what she deserved: Yi Xu personally arranged her execution, and she paid for it with her life.
Listening to Ming Sui's heart pound, the System gently coaxed her: Would you like to defy fate and change your ending? All you have to do is stay away from the male...
Before it could finish, Ming Sui leaped to her feet in a fury.
