The Forgotten One [Warcraft Focus]

Sylvanas is the leader of the Forsaken, an undead race in World of Warcraft.

After Arthas killed her with Frostmourne and resurrected her as the Banshee Queen, the Lich King's power behind Arthas began to wane. Sylvanas broke free of Arthas's control and gathered the undead who were gradually slipping out of control, dying and then rising again. Together, they founded a new race, the Forsaken, and joined the Horde.

(She originally belonged to the Alliance and died fighting for it, but the Alliance abandoned her, and even hunted her people down as "monsters.")

But the Forsaken can only ensure their race's survival by resurrecting the dead. Some Horde members are unhappy about this and believe Sylvanas doesn't truly care about the Horde.

Later, Horde Warchief Vol'jin dies in battle, and Sylvanas becomes the new leader of the Horde. The Horde and Alliance once again go to war over resources.

But the Horde's marshal considers her tactics "dishonorable."

Sylvanas believes that war is war, and winning is what matters most.

In the end, the Horde opposition joins forces with the Alliance and marches on the capital.

They turn out to be so weak that Sylvanas kills them with a single blow.

After declaring, "The Horde are all useless," Sylvanas leaves and gives up her position as the Horde's leader.

Later, Sylvanas confronts the current Lich King. He thinks she wants to claim the Lich King's power, but instead she destroys it, tears the world apart, and brings the realm of the dead into view.

P.S. I didn't follow the story before, but I became obsessed with the Queen in this expansion and started catching up. Please forgive any early plot holes.
