A Chance to Survive [Apocalypse]

[Doctor X Police Officer; 1v1; switch; HE]

At first, people thought it was just an ordinary epidemic. Later, it spread across the globe.

When the crisis broke out, Cen Jixue was the doctor stationed at the quarantine site, and Du Rendong was the police officer stationed there.

Du Rendong was stern and taciturn, cool and prickly.

At morning meetings, Cen Jixue often clashed with her.

One day, after a morning meeting, Du Rendong had once again left Cen Jixue fuming.

She hid in a corner and complained to a friend over the phone: “You have no idea. Du Lengding is so stubborn and awful-tempered. Whoever ends up dating her is going to have the worst luck, ”

As it happened, Du Rendong walked past her, folded her arms, and leaned against the doorway, watching with amusement to see what Cen Jixue would say about her right in front of her.

Holding her phone, Cen Jixue kept a straight face and said to the person on the other end, “But she's hardworking and responsible, emotionally steady, never complains, and always responds when you need her...”

Before she could finish, her friend boomed through the phone: “That's not right! You didn't say that yesterday. Yesterday you said she was petty and stingy, and that no matter how good-looking she was, ”

Cen Jixue hung up with a slap.

After the crisis broke out, they were the only two people left alive at the entire quarantine site.

Cen Jixue had no choice but to escort the specimens to the provincial laboratory with that block of ice.

On the way to safety, Cen Jixue cut her arm. Du Rendong lowered her head to bandage it, her expression cool and her movements gentle.

Cen Jixue suddenly began reciting, “Rendong is a semi-evergreen climbing vine that doesn't wither in winter and adapts easily... Du Lengding, also known as pethidine, relieves pain but is addictive.”

Du Rendong looked up at her and asked, “Doctor Cen, are you reciting the effects of Chinese and Western medicine?”

Cen Jixue smiled faintly. “No, Officer Du. I'm confessing my feelings for you.”
