But later, they became separated.

The world was vast, and Ling Huan had nowhere to begin looking. Yet her every frown and smile remained etched in his heart.

Three years later, when he saw her again in the capital, he learned that she had already given her heart to someone else and had completely forgotten him. Worse still, a deep-seated feud stood between him and her father.

Even so, he disregarded everything and petitioned the emperor for permission to marry her, taking her by force. He had planned to use the opportunity to avenge an old grudge, but found that he couldn't bear to see her suffer even the slightest grievance.
